The Power Systems Development Facility (PSDF) near Wilsonville, Alabama, is a joint project of the U.S. Department of Energys (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), Southern Company, and other industrial participants currently including the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation, Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR), and Peabody Energy. The PSDF is an engineering scale demonstration of key components of advanced coal-fired power systems designed at sufficient size to provide data for commercial scale-up.
